• 5th Annual Women In Business

We are beyond humbled and excited as we draw closer to our 5th Annual Women In Business Leadership Awards.  Over the past few years, the Chamber, through our Women In Business Council (listed below), have been able to shine a light on many women who lead in extraordinary ways in our community.  This year, though the global pandemic has significantly impacted everything we do and our community as a whole, we will still be hosting our Women In Business Leadership Awards in a virtual format.  In fact, in honor of our 5th Annual event, we are introducing a 5th award, Nonprofit Leader.

Thank you to the many people in our community that nominated our pool of deserving candidates this year.  As usual, there is an amazing group of nominees.  The list of this year's honorees is listed below.  Be sure to reserve your place today in order to share in their special day, and connecting with other people in our community.  Please continue to check back with this page for updates, program details, as well as ways to engage with our Women In Business Committee.  In the meantime, be sure to click below to learn about Sponsorship and Ticketing information for our 5th Annual Women In Business Leadership Luncheon on Thursday, October 22 from 11:30 AM - 1 PM.

    KEYNOTE SPEAKER

We are excited to announce that Judge Mablean will be the keynote for our 5th Annual Women In Business Leadership AwardsJudge Mablean is best known for her roles in Tyler Perry’s Diary of a Mad Black Women, Madea's Family Reunion and Madea Goes to Jail and as the former presiding Judge on FOX TV's "Divorce Court" for seven seasons.

For almost forty years, Judge Mablean Ephriam has brought a wealth of legal and sensible knowledge to courtrooms nationwide. In 2014, she returned to the bench in living rooms nationwide with her television show, "Justice with Judge Mablean." (An Entertainment Studios Production). Dispensing her now familiar brand of justice with her no-nonsense, straight-talk demeanor and sense of humor, "Justice with Judge Mablean" airs in broadcast syndication Monday thru Friday in all major US media markets and in Canada, South Africa, Jamaica, Australia and the Bahamas, covering a range of real life issues and with real legal solutions. Before portraying a judge in Tyler Perry’s films, Judge Mablean served as a Prosecutor for the City of Los Angeles and in private practice as a criminal defense and family law attorney.

Since Divorce Court, Judge Mablean has been involved in the day to day operation of her 501 © (3) non-profit, the Mablean Ephriam Foundation, whose mission is to strengthen families, educate minds, financially empower the residents of the impoverished communities of Los Angeles County. The foundation has adopted two schools, Peary Middle School (Gardena) and her alma mater, Jefferson High School, providing both academic and cultural enrichment programs and scholarships for graduating seniors. She is the founder of an annual event, Honoring Unsung Fathers (H.U.F.) Awards and Scholarship Brunch. It is held on Father’s Day each year since 2004. The Foundation also awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors (throughout Los Angeles County). Judge Mablean also travels extensively as a much sought after public speaker.

Currently, Judge Mablean just published her second book "Look Deep Before You Leap" and getting prepared for “Look Deep Before You Leap” relationship tour in 2018.

Judge Mablean attributes her success to God, her parents, her family and close friends. Her faith, religion and trust in God, keeps this mother of four and grandmother of ten, meek and humble.
